The growth in this city is pretty phenomenal. The view outside of my window is literally filled with cranes.

Though, that view is going to be quickly erased, as construction for The Pinnacle begins. There’s really nothing like waking up to a pile driver powering its way through limestone every morning. It’s a little nerve-wracking, too. Anyone remember in 2002 when NES was digging a little too close to the foundation of a building on 2nd avenue and it collapsed? I sure do. I remember it every time I feel the dull thud of the pile driver. Good times.

And no, if my building collapses, you cannot have my stuff.

I am excited about the Pinnacle building, though. Judging from the renderings, it looks like it’s going to be a really pretty building.

There was also the time when NES was doing work on Broadway in front of the soon to be opened (then soon to be closed) NASCAR Cafe.

Two poor tourists from Seattle wound up extra crispy.
