Nordstrom on the Way?
Confirming what local businesspeople and commercial real estate types have been talking about for weeks, the City Paper today discusses the possibility of a Nordstrom department store at Green Hills Mall. This is obviously great news for local shoe enthusiasts, fashionistas and idle housewives. Me? I look forward to shopping for new suits with a live pianist playing the background music.
What other establishments - retail, restaurant or otherwise - do you readers wish Nashville had? Let us know in the comments.

I remember the live pianist from the Nordstrom at the Stanford Mall. Extra cool and it hires a local musician for a gig.
We need Trader Joe’s!
Ah, CLC beat me to it. Trader Joe’s.
And it’d be nice to have a Memphis Pizza Cafe in West Nashville, which I know does not make any sense. And a Chinese restaurant that’s not just takeout and has really good vegetarian options (including spring rolls).
Agree on the Trader Joe’s. Would LOVE to see a Crate and Barrel and a Sur La Table, (the same quality as Williams-Sonoma, more selection in most stores and it’s way cheaper.) A Club Monaco would be nice as well.
I am glad to see Nordstrom coming (I’m from Chicago and have missed it sorely), but I’d also like to see an H&M (except maybe more like the ones in Europe–I’m not being snotty; they have better-quality clothes than the ones I’ve been in here. Less hoochie-mama and more like a more affordable version of the Limited or Ann Taylor, but with a wider selection). An Urban Outfitter’s would be nice, too. Wait, can we just port the entire contents of Woodfield Mall into Nashville?
Trader Joe’s.
Ikea.
Urban Outfitters.
Yes.
IKEA! YES!!! I would throw all my other wish-list stores out the window if we could get an IKEA.
I love H&M and Urban Outfitters, but having them may not be such a good idea… then half of Nashville would be wearing the same clothes… ala Gap.
