Heads-up: Music City Brewer’s Fest

2007-bflogo.jpgI’ve been meaning to attend this ever since I moved here four years ago but it’s never worked out that I could go. (Maybe this year, although true to tradition, I have a possible conflict.) The usual locals are represented, along with some non-local classics. Get your tickets here.

Have you attended the Brewer’s Fest in the past? If so, what did you think? Worth the $30/$40? Tell us in the comments.

Hmm, I’ve never heard of this. Sounds like something that must be tried.

I went a few years ago (when it was only $25 to attend), but I was the DD (I was on a “beer sucks” kick for about 7 years. It’s ended now.) so it was not a great time for me. However, they did seem to have a good variety of beer, and now that I drink beer again I think I would enjoy attending just to discover new favorites. However, i don’t know that I’d pay $40. $25 wasn’t so bad, but when you’ve got to drive all the way back to Murfreesboro, you can’t really get your $40 worth, I don’t think.

We went last year and had a blast, and my gf doesn’t even like beer. It was really hot and totally packed, but there were enough tables that we could always find someone ready to serve us (as long as we weren’t too picky, which we weren’t). Also they had little tents available to escape the sun and a little misting area. There was some food but not a ton, so I’d advise you go pre-filled with proteins and carbs so you can taste every beer you can get your hands on.

I am going to go, just because I want to see what it’s like.. I went to a beer festival in California a few months ago and it was unbelievable, but it was huge and in boonville, so that helped too..

Of course it can’t be this weekend when I don’t have to work for a change.

We went for several years, bringing my son when he was just weeks old. Unfortunately, last year, they turned us away at the door (despite having bought tickets in advance) because their “new rule” meant that a 4 year old was not welcome … lest he be served, I guess.

    We won’t be back.

It was very good years back when it started, but the organizers now seem to care about getting every penny out of you rather than having fun. It is packed, the number of beers poured is down, and the food prices are up. The breweries mostly pour their most popular (cheaper) stuff, so no treat there, either.
