I would love give a steady posting-commentary on the local goings-on; unfortunately, I'm about to move out of Nashville, TN to Murfreesboro, TN. There is no Metblog for that town.

I know it's close to 'Nashvegas,' but I am also one of the sad masses who relies on the public transit system. In this neck of the world that means if it's not on the Monday - Friday working hour circuit in Nashville, I won't be going.

If you're looking to add more cities - count me in for Murfreesboro ("The Boro" to it's inhabitants and the college crowd.)If not, while I'd love the chance, I don't think you want a reporter-by-proxy.

Ugh!

It was fun the first 20 minutes.

Then our shamble of zombies walked from the Printer's Alley area to Centennial park! I walked the full-tilt shuffled - which put me in the back of the zombie march. Word of our final destination passed down the line by mouth, and I assumed that since we were walking so very far there was something waiting for us at Centennial. There was...

The organizer and her friends had a car parked there, and left the rest of us with a little wave and nothing else.

After walking all the way back to downtown, I was pretty disillusioned about the whole "zombie walk" thing.

I'm not knocking my fellows from the undead ranks in attendance. Everyone was very friendly, and I did have a great time. I did expect more of the organizer, but hey - it was not a bad way to spend Saturday night.

For anyone considering joining the next zombie walk I have a couple of pointers:

>Comfy Shoes
>Bus or Cab fare (know the bus route that will take you back to your car)
>Be nice to the Police men.

I can't think of a better post-Steeplechase activity than this. I'll probably look like a drunk sunburned (or wet)zombie wearing a seersucker jacket anyway...

Ugh! Why can't these kinds of things be advertised in more places sooner? It appears to be a trend in Nashville that anything cheap and interesting is only advertised the day before or day-of.

I'd love to go to something like this, but - and I'm sure most of you can sympathize - my weekends are booked up usually a couple weeks in advance!

Well, I'm not sure Mary305's got their number, but as of now, I'm not a Gigi's fan.

It wasn't horrific or anything, but in categories of cake flavor and icing flavor, a grocery store bakery can keep up pretty well. Admittedly, Gigi's has more flavors and flash, and it was a little fun to stop at a "cup cake shop." Unfortunately, novelty will only get you so far.

Suggesstions:
STEP UP Gigi's! At $33 dollars per dozen, your cupcakes aren't going to compete with $15 from the grocery store!

You've got a cute look and a potentially great niche in Music city, if you can just start offering us something we can't find down the street for less.
